Top 5 Hacks to Stop a Hangover for The Integrative Soul (that parties).

Likely most people aren’t raging hard every night but if you do chose to imbibe with a little alcohol here and there; here are some tips to help soften that next day hangover:

1-Water-2 glasses for every one of an alcoholic drink. Add a pinch of sea salt for added electrolytes. Alcohol is dehydrating and dehydration is one of the main reasons you feel sick during a hangover. For every one alcoholic drink try adding two 8-ounce glasses of water.

2-Food-Eating on a full stomach helps slow alcohol absorption. Fats and vegetables high in water work best.

3-Activated Charcoal-Helps bind up toxins and slow absorption in the gut. You can do two caps before bed or while drinking. Be careful not to take with food or medication as it binds those up as well.

4-NAC-Precursor to the liver’s main antioxidant enzyme-Glutathione. NAC will help you detoxify alcohol in the liver. So, 600mg before bed and 600mg in the am.

5-GABA-One of the body’s main feel good neurotransmitters. Drinking can deplete GABA, which is why you feel good while drinking. But in the morning your stores are low and you feel bad, so 500mg before bed and 500mg in the am will help keep a hangover at bay.
