Toxicity is a Major Driver of Immune Dysregulation
Toxicity, both endogenous (coming from internal toxins, byproducts of metabolism) and exogenous (toxins from the environment, the food we eat, the air we breath and water we drink) leads to immune dysregulation when not properly processed by the organs of elimination (liver, kidneys, lymph, GI tract, lungs, skin).
Some of the major categories of exogenous toxins include heavy metals (mercury, lead, aluminum, cadmium, etc), biotoxins from chronic mold, lyme and other chronic infections, glyphosate, chemicals from plastics, cosmetics, food preservatives and volatile compounds in aerosolized pollutants.
Toxicity drives an increase in the TH2 allergic immune response and a lowered TH1 pathogen and cancer fighting response. This leads to chronic low grade inflammation which depletes our detox pathways (the main one being glutathione) and with lowered ability to detox our toxic burden goes up in a vicious cycle.
Working on supporting the body’s critical detoxification pathways is essential to lowering the overall toxic burden, improving immune balance and reestablishing self regulation.
In my practice in addition to traditional hydrotherapy and detox nutrient support (glutathione, NAC, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, milk thistle, bitters, binders, etc) I also use European biological remedies to help stimulate the main emunctories or organs of elimination of the body. These combination herbal and homeopathic remedies are safe and highly effective at helping the body restore proper self regulation.
